There have been many ups and downs throughout my stay. Worked from a part-time bagger to a Meat Market Manager and had been with the company for over 20+ years. I had been employed through Foodlion since I was 16. It’s also fairly difficult to move up, if you’re an existing employee because they’d rather hire outside help instead of allowing their existing employees a chance to succeed in different positions, I was lucky enough to get a promotion, however, it took years of me working there especially after being looked over multiple times, although I was definitely qualified for the job position in the beginning and I pretty much only got the promot. Aside from management, it’s pretty decent I’d say, and not all managers were so bad, some were really great and helpful and understanding. I got wrote up multiple times for very small incidents/situations, I never got fired, assuming because they realized the unreasoning behind the write ups. Bosses easily got mad over small things and rather than talk it out, it was more so being rude to said person they were mad at. A lot of favoritism and not enough understanding regarding call outs due to things such as sickness or emergency situations.
